Firewalked!
We DID it!! On Friday the 21st March we walked over burning hot coals to raise money for the awesome St Columba’s hospice!
Together we raised over £600!! The night was brilliant. Have you ever walked on fire? I definitely recommend a firewalk on the bucket list. It’s SO empowering!
We met our instructor Lee Walls , from Firewalk Scotland, (also she has a wonderful podcast called brave conversations, a fascinating listen with lots of conversations covering a variety of topics, well worth looking up if that’s your vibe…)
She was fab and spoke us through the process, from the practicalities of walking on actual fire, to the motivation to do so.. Overcoming our fears and doing what you’d normally think was impossible!
Not only that, but she sprung on us that not only would we be walking on fire but we would all be snapping arrows on our necks.. Yep… We all held an arrow up to our necks and lunged into a slate to snap the arrows. It’s amazing what you can do with a great instructor teaching you and roomful of like-minded people cheering you on!
Then finally on to the firewalk itself. During our chat, the fire had been burning away, and eventually we all walked barefoot over a carpet of hot coals, fearless (ok, terrified.. :D) and determined, and came out of the other side unscathed.
We had a lovely night and some of us celebrated with a slice of pizza on the way home.
But, we wanted to thank all of our donors, we love to do various things for charity, and we would not be able to do any of it without the support of you. We SO appreciate it. Thank you all!
Now…. What can we do next…..?
